The Design Story
Adelaide’s Song is the most botanically detailed print in the Meadow Flowers collection. It moves away from the open meadow scatter of the other designs and into something more layered, a flowing arrangement of flowers, fruit, birds, and seed pods connected by winding stems across the cloth. The warm ivory ground keeps the whole thing light despite the density of the motif, and the print rewards cutting into it, with new combinations appearing at every angle. On Liberty Lasenby cotton it presses beautifully flat, which matters when you are working with a design this intricate. We chose this colourway for the way the coral and periwinkle tones carry right across the Meadow Flowers range, making it easy to build a collection quilt that feels coherent from the first cut.
